Bio

 

 

A native of Val-des-Sources, France McNeil lives and works in Quebec City. She has a BA in visual arts from Université Laval. Her practice focuses on painting, printmaking and drawing. She has been a member of Centre Engramme since 1994.

Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in Quebec and abroad, notably in France, Belgium, Germany and Finland. Her work can be found in a number of private and public collections, including the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec, the Loto-Québec Collection, the Desjardins Collection and the Méduse Collection.

With financial support from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec and SODEC, France McNeil has taken part in creative residencies at the Vermont Studio Centre and the Engramme Centre in Quebec City. In 2013, she was a finalist for the Videre Award for Excellence in Arts and Culture. In 2023, she received the Trophée Paysage from the Cercle des artistes peintres et sculpteurs du Québec.
